this week has seemed long. I guess it's because I've been looking forward to volunteering in the Stock Yards tomorrow for their Red Steagall event going on all weekend. I'm still confused as to where to park, but it should all work out. I hope we get a better turnout than the last event down there. There even was a real-life wagon train this week leading up to the event!
I bought new shoes today that I'm pretty excited about. But let's back up:
I told Sarah I wanted to get a cupcake from Sprinkles, a very yuppy cupcake place in downtown Dallas where the rich folks get their sweets. It's also near a shopping center, so I thought I'd look at DSW's selection too. So I picked up Sarah and we took the long way into Dallas. We found parking and I got a pretty cute pair of shoes...
cute, right? :)
Then we walked over to Sprinkles and enjoyed our $3 cupcakes (I know, it's terrible). Then we realized it was Rush Hour. On a Friday. Yikes.
So through a series of twists and turns, I managed to avoid most of the back-ups and we got back safe and sound. Not bad for an "out of towner"!
Also, my roommates are driving me a little nuts. One of their boyfriends had his comprehensive exams for his PhD this week, and he was at our house EVERY DAY. Now, I like him, he's a great guy. It's just annoying that he appears to have no home of his own (though he doesn't sleep here, thankfully). I'm just getting sick of not being able to just have a quiet evening alone. Last night they had friends come over at 10:30 PM to START hanging out. Thankfully I'm somewhat of a sound sleeper, though I have no idea when they left. And I went to bed at midnight. *sigh*

Yay for the unexpected paper shortenings/extensions. One of my profs spontaneously offered us an extension to our group project, though she left it up to our vote. Needless to say, it passed unanimously. :-)
