where did October go?

Thanks so much for all of your input on my computer/camera issues guys, I really appreciate it. :P  Looks like I may be making a trip to the "Geek Squad"...

anyway, life has been life lately.  I actually felt a little bored on Monday, and then realized Tuesday that I have a major paper due before Thanksgiving, so I've got to get a start on that.  Plus a little paper due tonight by 7pm.  Heh.

This morning I did my weekly Wednesday volunteering at the Old Red Museum in downtown Dallas and it was probably one of the best times I've had there.  I do really like it, but today was kinda exceptional.  We were trying out a new "historical classroom" project called Hats in the Courtroom.  Someone had found 30+ hats to use for different characters, and wrote a script for kids to act out a court case.  We had three 3rd grade classes to go through as our guinea pigs and they were so cute!  The teachers were really strict, and very determined to get their students to forever stand in lines.  I guess that's necessary at that age, but I couldn't help smirking a little when they got really mad.

Oh, the cutest thing by far was the way this one teacher got her students to quiet down.  Y'know those things with responses people do to get the group's attention?  Well, she would exclaim, "Go to!" and all the kids would respond "college!".  Soooo adorable! ;)  I definitely appreciated trying to get that instilled in the minds of presumably inner-city kids.  cute cute cute

Yesterday we had some excitement around my house because my roommate Ruth Anne finally got engaged to her boyfriend!!  It was all very fun and her ring is gorgeous.  We had a big impromptu to-do at the house last night and I didn't get to bed until almost 2am.  Whew, haven't done that in a while.

It's kinda ridiculous because she had been expecting/planning on their getting engaged for a while, so yesterday she already booked the caterers, photographers, and band.  Not that I'm surprised, because that's how Ruth Anne is.  Certainly will make the next 7 months easier. :)

So, I better get this paper finished up.  I also have a bunch of reading to do tonight, so we'll see how well that goes.  It started out as a pretty nice day, but the weather had taken a dreary turn and there's another flash flood warning for tonight.  Halloween is definitely in the air!

Hmm. I didn't post a response as I've never really owned a camera before.

My suggestions for general USB usage are:

1) Try a different USB port.
2) Try a different USB item in the same port that does not work.
3) Make sure the software is still installed (if there is any).
4) Uninstall and reinstall the software (if there is any).

I'm not an expert on the things though. Just some ideas I had off the top of my head.

That "Go To!" "College" sounds very cute! I wish I could see that first hand.

that is SO cute! I'm totally using that trick on my freshmen when I become a college professor, except maybe I'll have them say "grad school" instead of "college".
