On my own

wow it's been a while. time sure does fly when you spend a lot of time in a car.

the trip's almost over. I've been at my parents' since Sunday, and they actually left yesterday for Mackinaw Island so it's just been me all alone. It's nice. I could have gone with them, but I like being at the house and getting some things done. I've been going through more stuff in my *old* room and a year away has certainly made me even more, um, heartless? It's just that I feel the need to pitch lots of stuff I didn't feel I could part with last year. I've already filled an entire trash bag with old photographs, and I could probably fill another by the end of the day.

I'm at the library now because the Internet at our house is a bit finicky. My laptop can't pick up wireless in certain parts of the house, and today we just plain don't have any, on the laptop or desktop and I wanted to try to renew some library items I had checked out in Irving. Well, I get here and discover that I've reached my limit on renewals (I'd had 'em since late May/early June, heh). Oh well. I don't even think the Irving PL does late fees, because my roommate Holly once turned in books late and asked them how much she owed and they said nothing. And I looked in vain to try to find some kind of rates on the website. I guess I'll find out when I get back.

I'm hoping to leave Monday, maybe Tuesday. Probably Monday. The thing is, I was hoping to stop at my Aunt and Uncle's in Arcola, and then somewhere in MO on my way back to Texas to split up the trip. Well, now my Aunt and Uncle are going to be out of town. I suppose I'll spring for another hotel room, but I don't really want to. Maybe it'll be good though and I can get some decent sleep. I can't seem to get enough of it at my parents' house, and I don't know why. I've had headaches a lot this week.

Check out my facebook photo albums to get a better idea of where I've been. I've got more photos to post from Motown and then I went to a random Cajun restaurant last night here in the mid-Michigan area. Here's a few pics from when I visited Anna because I promised!

Anna's modelling her hairnet that we wore to go in the South Bend Chocolate Factory.

me, showing off my "cap"

ooooh chocolate :)

"Speed it up a little!"

Anna still hasn't seen this episode of I Love Lucy, so we have to remedy that :)

maybe the next time you hear from me I'll be back in the Central Time Zone!

Anna-pictures! I didn't know there was a chocolate factory in South Bend...now I'll really have to visit.

I also enjoyed some quiet alone time at home recently - my parents and some siblings went to Myrtle Beach right before I left, but it just seemed to stressful to go on vacation right before moving. (I know - vacation, stressful?) It was a nice and relaxing "staycation".
